X-ray is Incotec's most innovative seed upgrading technology which can significantly increase the percentage of useable seeds in each seed lot. The shape of the embryo inside each individual seed is evaluated which results in three quality fractions. Looking at the seed interior, it can be assessed whether all the essential seed components are adequately present, and whether the seed has been damaged by seed processing, pests or diseases. Upgrading, based upon X-ray images, therefore is a very efficient method, with little waste compared to conventional upgrading techniques. X-ray Organic Pepper may be used in Dutch organic farming.
