After 15 years at the Ministry of Defence, in various roles and twice on secondment, I switched to the corporate world. I started at Incotec as Assistant to the Head of Customer Services. I was partly responsible for uniform, efficient order processing and the provision of good service to our customers. This department had daily contact with customers, colleagues and relations.
After only a year, I got the chance to become the manager of the department and I jumped at the opportunity. Together with the department staff, we made various changes, including the introduction of SAP and a radical reorganisation. Results were achieved with a smile and a tear. Looking back on this time, the whole department can be proud of what we achieved.
At the same time, I was in charge of the Supply Chain department pending the permanent filling of this position. Supply Chain's mission is to realise an efficient and correct planning of production orders. So: coordinate, control and monitor the processes for all production flows at Incotec in Europe.
When I was asked to take responsibility for all production departments, I didn't have to think twice. As manager, I am responsible for an effective and efficient execution of the production planning and for ensuring the correct and timely availability of people and resources. Together with the department staff, I am constantly looking at where we can improve and how we can make processes even more efficient.
