Croda updates science based targets

Incotec's mother company Croda recently updated their Science Based Targets and approved Net Zero target.

Many of Croda’s customers are increasingly requesting low-carbon solutions and by doing this Croda helps customers to decarbonise faster. The improved climate goals have been externally validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This already started in 2021. Croda has now expanded the opportunities available to help its customers decarbonise by including impacts on land-related emissions, aligned with the latest understanding of climate science.  By the end of 2030 we aim to:

  • reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 Green House Gas (GHG) emissions by 42% - These are emissions from our own operations
  • reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions by 25% - These are value chain emissions upstream and downstream
  • reduce absolute scope 3 FLAG GHG emissions by 30.3% - These are land-related emissions upstream
  • SBTi has also verified our net zero science-based target by 2050.

Phil Ruxton, Chief Sustainability Officer, Croda: “Croda encourages peers, suppliers, partners, and other stakeholders to align with climate science through the adoption of net zero science-based targets aligned with 1.5°C, enabling the rapid and deep emission cuts needed to mitigate the effects of a changing climate.”
