Incotec treats the kids at Kids Time in Pisa
On Wednesday November 7th Femke Appelman, Technology & Innovation Manager at Incotec, visited Kid's Time at Walk-in House Pisa. Pisa is a warm and welcoming house for people with cancer, theirfamilies, loved ones and bereaved. Femke was there to make a donation and to treat the children to cream puffs.
This year Incotec celebrates its 50th anniversary. The company asked her relations not for gifts but for a donation for to Pisa. The proceeds of a book about 50 years Incotec were also added to the donations. In total this yielded an amount of over 3400 euros.

During Kid's Time on Wednesday afternoon at Pisa, children whose parents are seriously ill, or have died from cancer, are taken care of. With play and guidance the children - and often the rest of the family - are helped through a difficult period. Femke Appelman: "Pisa is a welcoming and warm place where everyone who comes into contact with this disease is welcome. I am glad that on behalf of our colleagues and partners we can make this wonderful contribution to help continue these valuable activities.
Wiek Luza is coordinator and supervisor at Pisa: "The diagnosis of cancer hits you like a hammer and knocks you off your feet. Often the first thought is "I'll die". A long process of treatment often follows. It is good to know that Pisa is a place where you can go during and after your treatment with all your emotions and experiences, where you are understood and your sometimes conflicting feelings are recognized. A place where you can meet fellow sufferers and to hep you feel less alone. Pisa also offers support for partners and children, because "you don't have cancer alone".
